The most amazing things happen when you Leap then Look. The story of YMVA began on the Full Moon of July 3rd 2012. It was this day that Yalonda McQuinn Visual Art was founded under the mission of creating works of art that builds opportunities for communities through art appreciation, financial resources, and spiritual wellness.
YMVA is built on a foundation of Social ARTrepreneurship where our organization finds solutions to social problems in communities and determines creative ways to overcome them through visual arts. Three Guiding Principles are the CORE of YMVA
Since its founding in July 2012, YMVA has hosted its Annual Founding Celebration event. During the month of July, this annual celebration brings together the collectors of YMVA and offer various acts of gratitude for their continued patronage and support.
Art heals, and is a very necessary component for our spiritual well-being. YMVA established two signature art workshops, "CreAtivi-TEA" and "Medi-PAINT-ion". These group painting workshops allow participants to relieve stress and open their creative energy in a fun and care-free environment.
“Every child is an Artist. The problem is how to remain an Artist once we grow up” This famed quote by Pablo Picasso captures the very essence of who I am and my first love will always be to Art. In the month of August, “I Heart ART” Supply Drive, provides young ARTrepreneurs at local area schools with various art supplies and materials to aid in their art educational pursuits. As the Visual Artist and Founder of YMVA, it is my continued vision to use the guiding principles of this organization and the gift of Art to build opportunities for others. |
